Community Engagement
Our department (faculty, staff, residents) partnered with a local church for a back-to-school event. We distributed bookbags with school supplies, gave information on getting chidren back to school in a healthy way, gave away children's books, did hearing/vision/dental screens and connected the attendees with any needed community resources. It was informative and lots of fun.
Each year, our department partners with a community organization to provide holiday
gifts for 1-2 families. We wrap the gifts together at our annual holiday celebration.

Our amazing pediatric residents lead the department in our annual children's book
drive. Each year the residents take the helm as we give our family, friends and colleagues
the opportunity to serve the community by purchasing a pre-chosen selection of books
for our patients. These books allow our patients to see themselves in the books they
read. We have distributed over 800 books so far!
